We have seen many solo artists over the last few years in our much loved Tea Room des Artist performing jazz classics, swing, early chamber music and even close-harmony trio’s. At next Sunday’s fair we are very excited to welcome Yorkshireman Matt Redman. Former guitar prodigy, music-director, composer and a performer in demand, specialising in guitar, banjo, mandolin and other plucked string instruments in numerous genres. He can be heard performing various contexts ranging through jazz, rock/pop, folk and classical with a passion for early 20th century music.

Matt is a successful arranger and musical director who produced a vintage music compilation sung by Patricia Hammond and released by Sony in 2010. He then went on to direct various ensembles for her album of his own arrangements for Universal. Building on the love and knowledge of music from 1910, Matt has recently formed a band The Versatility Serenders who bring to life some of the most entertaining and neglected areas of early 20th century popular music.

Matt will be performing solo ragtime and jazz sets at The Vintage Collections between 12.30 and 4pm playing his much loved banjo. So take a seat between browsing…
