It’s been a long, (occasionally) hot summer and now Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair is back with The Vintage Collections! Our biannual fair celebrating the new fashion season returns this Sunday 11th September from 11am until 5pm at our usual home, The Old Finsbury Town Hall.
With over 50 traders, there’s something for everyone. Just take a look at some of the new traders joining us for the first time:
Actress Victoria Emslie (Downton Abbey, The Danish Girl, The Theory of Everything) is as much a lover of vintage clothes as she is period films! She’ll be selling items from her personal collection that have been sourced both on and off sets with interesting design elements for women of all sizes.
Seasoned trader Jackie Mighall of Vintagelady brings an extensive range and her expert eye from over 20 years’ in the industry. There are plenty of unusual details and prints in her collection of womenswear, accessories and jewellery dating from 1900s to 1970s.
A regular shopper at our fair, with an Instagram style account to swoon over, Julie Alpine is having a wardrobe clear-out, much to our excitement. Check out her fun and fashionable Instagram account for a taste of what’s to come @she_wears_the_trousers.
Shoe lovers are in for a real treat this Sunday! Cecile Bramble and Ollie Oshodi have a selection of women’s designer shoes for you to get your hands on at a more reasonable price. Labels include Prada, Gucci, Ferragamo and Gina.
Grab the outfit to go with your new designer shoes from Yve Marchant of Vivienne and Violets who brings women’s designer pieces from Chanel, to YSL, to Hermés and Dior. Her suits and separates dating from 1960s to 1990s are a particular highlight.
Interior designer, balboa dancer and vintage enthusiast Lydia Gilbert brings a selection from her wares from over 15 years’ of collecting. This is one for die-hard vintage lovers (ask Lydia about her entirely 1930s home!)
Smashing Things, specialists in ‘quirky’ vintage pieces from as early as 1920s to 1990s, also join us. Look out for unusual 1920s feather coats, iconic 1970s Gucci macs, 1980s Prada button dresses and more.
For the vintage magpies among you, head to Sue Cain’s beautifully displayed stall for rare costume jewellery, bakelight pieces and quirky accessories. Sue has been collecting for over 20 years from fairs, private sellers and estate sales around Europe.
Arriving with textiles and trimmings, as well as some fine womenswear, Denise Liparoto
is our go-to this Sunday for getting crafty.
Entertaining our tearoom yet again this Sunday is Steve Conway, singing jazz and swing favourites from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone and Louis Armstrong.
We hope you’ll be able to join us too!
